Chocolate-filled crescent rolls (& other special fillings)

Our sweet friends Katie and Jeremy recently got engaged! For the proposal, Jeremy recruited his best friends to plan and execute a huge party to be waiting on the rooftop of his apartment after a daylong date in honor of Katie's birthday. Friends and family would be waiting on the roof, as well as a spread of potluck food and a bar (serving Sam Adams' Octoberfest, red wine, Maker's and Coke, and Champagne, of course)- AND a film crew to get the proposal on film. It was an incredible night (and of course, SHE SAID YES). Since my significant other is a dear friend of Jeremy's, I was given the huge privilege of helping with the party- but that left me with little time to prepare food or bake. I had wanted to venture out and make homemade chocolate filled croissants- but that takes ALL DAY (literally, ALL DAY). So I had to do some juggling of ideas- I landed on using Pillsbury's Crescent Rolls to wrap around sweet fillings. Here are the ideas that turned out tasty for when you are in a crunch.

4 or 5 packages of Pillsbury cans of Crescent Rolls

Fillings:
Dark chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips with crushed hazelnuts
Semi-sweet chocolate chips with apricot preserves!
Chocolate with blackberry preserves
Milk chocolate chips (alone or with crushed hazelnuts)

Roll out crescent rolls, modestly fill with whatever your heart desires, and roll back up- being sure to pinch all edges to a close to prevent seeping. Bake 12-15 minutes, let cool on a rack and sprinkle with confectioners sugar! These really do taste the best when they have cooled- when still hot, the buttery taste of the crescent rolls is unpleasant, but once cooled (and with the confectioners sugar dusted on top) they taste sweet and wonderful.
