From
Farmgirl Fare comes the recipe for BEER BREAD! It is in the oven as we speak. I have heard everyone rave about the ease and goodness of beer bread- you throw flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, etc. in a bowl and then mix it into a dough with any beer of your choosing. The yeast in the beer makes the bread self-rising- 5 minutes in prep, 45 minutes in the oven and hopefully an amazing loaf of bread comes out. The recipe I followed did not call for kneading but we will see what happens. I mixed in parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil and 2 fresh cloves of minced garlic. I wanted to use my Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout but it is a 27 oz and well, what a waste! So I used an unwanted Sam Adams Boston Lager- next time I want to use a stouter beer to suit my preferences but I am sure this will turn out okay. To be continued (and I will post the recipe)
